Known as le Quatorze Juillet in France, the holiday commemorates the one year anniversary of the day angry revolutionaries stormed the Bastille in Paris to begin the French Revolution in 1789, eventually leading to the 1793 beheading of the then-Queen of France, Marie Antoinette.
